ALT loving - Chat Options - changing colors

There are three basic steps to getting a nice chat room appearance (and a couple more optional ones).  Do these three steps first, then glance at the rest of the simple notes.

Below you'll find a SAMPLE THEME we like.

Step 1) first thing to change (color wise) is under Options .. go to Effects .. UN-CLICK the "Show background" button (turning it off) .. then move the "transparency bar" 1/2 of the way to the right (screen will be a light gray) .. then, click OK

Step 2) second thing is under Options, too .. go to Themes .. change color of the public log background to white .. click OK

Step 3) last of all .. in the BOX below the main chat screen select a color OTHER than white as your FONT color .. making it BOLD helps, too

You're leaving your screen a little gray, and changing your FONT to a color because newcomers to the chat rooms will first appear in WHITE, making it possible to see who they are.

Besides setting the TEXT to a look you like (we like Verdana "14" for all three) there are a couple other things you can do .. if you want .. to make things look even better. Want to know how?

Note 1) under Options/Themes we changed "Enter room notification" to BLACK; we set the "Rooms background" and the last three options there (the three for other backgrounds) to WHITE; we set almost all the rest of the colors to different GRAYS and the "Select skins" pull down to "Windows XP" .. click OK

Note 2) you can see these changes as you make them .. just go slowly in Options, and hit CANCEL after any changes you hate (this gives you a chance to try again) .. but, if you click OK instead, you'll be saving how it looks at the moment

Note 3) from this point, go ahead and make the room as "colorful" as you want!
